I have been working non-stop like a mad woman since yesterday morning to get these photos up.  This is Part II if you missed the first Top Stitch post.

I just couldn’t leave them alone, the consequences of which are visible all throughout my house:  a huge pile of stuffed animals mixed with crayons on my living room floor, Scarlett in a onesie sitting on top of the kitchen table, and every single dish we own is either dirty on the counter or clean in the un-loaded dishwasher.

Yesterday morning Carrie, the owner of The Top Stitch, and I took three of the most beautiful young ladies around downtown Spokane to show-off some of the clothing and bags she’s created for display in her store.  Hannah, Alex, and Megan were such troopers in skirts and short-sleeved tops in the 40 degree weather!  I even had Megan hiking up a steep hill in her pumps and she had a smile on her face the whole time.  Thanks girls, you couldn’t have been cuter!

And a special thanks to Carrie and her husband Randy for their help and willingness to drive here and there and hold coats and cocoas!

I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to be working on this project!

Carrie, the owner of my favorite local fabric shop is updating her website so we are working on capturing the essence of her shop in photos.

The Top Stitch is located in Spokane at Monroe and Garland and is full of the most hip and funky fabrics available.  They also carry Janome sewing machines and a huge variety of patterns and books that are sure to spark your creativity.  If you’re into sewing, The Top Stitch has it all.  I think every time I go in there I say, “Oh!  You carry (enter awesome fabric designer, embroidery book, or vintage-inspired notion here)??!!”  They really have such a fun variety!

The best news is that even if you have no clue what I’m talking about with all of this, Carrie offers classes and private lessons for every skill-level.

Check back next week for The Top Stitch Part II because Carrie and I will be heading out on the town with some lovely models to show off her fabric and patterns in action.

And be sure to check out The Top Stitch on Facebook and FLICKR. You may see a bit of me on the FLICKR site.  :)

Darrick and Kelsey {MARRIED}

February 10, 2010

Darrick and Kelsey got married in Las Vegas in November and had a reception for family and friends in Medical Lake last weekend.  Boy, do I wish I had thought of that!  It was fun to be with the bride and groom {not} on their wedding day.  It was a relaxed and fun celebration.

I didn’t have a much time with the bride and groom alone, but I had plenty of sights to capture during the reception.  Thanks Darrick and Kelsey for having me!

Firecracker {PERSONAL}

February 9, 2010

My little girl is a firecracker.  Every time we go to the children’s museum downtown she insists on climbing up into the lego table.  I don’t make an issue of it because if I do, she will just be more determined to stay in it.  Anyway, in an effort to document more of her life, I took my camera and got a couple of shots.  (Really, just 3.  So much for that effort!)

I couldn’t resist posting this picture because this is the look she gives me all the time.  It means “What?  Am I not supposed to be doing this?”

Thanks to everyone who entered my little contest!  It made the waiting a little more fun for us.  :)

Well, first of all. . .

IT’S A GIRL!!!

We are both so happy!  I think that two little girls just less than 2 years apart will be so much fun.  (Am I crazy?)

And on to the important part!  I wrote all of the girl-guessers down and had Dylan draw a name.  He kept saying, “But Mom, I can’t read what they say!”  Duh!

So, Nikki Reed is the lucky winner of a photo session this spring!  Yay Nikki!  Are you as excited as I am??

On another equally exciting note:  This morning I am off to shoot at the Top Stitch which is a local fabric store.  Well, really in my opinion, it is THE ONLY local fabric store.  They carry an amazing array from my favorite fabric designers like Anna Maria Horner, Amy Butler, and Heather Bailey to name a few.  They also carry the cutest patterns and offer classes for beginners and seamstresses alike.   Honestly this store is my own little slice of heaven so I couldn’t be happier that they’ve asked me to shoot some photos for their new website.  Wish me luck!

I’ve been wanting to do a session give-away for fun sometime this year and I finally came up with a fun way to do it.  As some of you may know, I’m expecting a baby in July and this Friday we’ll have the ultrasound which will (hopefully) tell us the gender of said baby.

So here’s the contest. . . You enter a comment guessing the gender of the baby (its 50-50 people).  Then after the ultrasound I’ll draw a name out of the correct commenters.  That person will win a free session sometime this spring.  The session will include up to 2 hours shooting and a mini-disk of your 10 favorite images sized to print up to 5×7.  Does that sound like a good deal?  By the way the guessing will have to end Sunday night at midnight. Then I’ll post the results on Monday the 8th.  So if you know me well and will want the info before Monday then you better vote soon.  :)

So. . .will it be boy or girl? Pink or blue?  Mini-Dylan or Mini-Scarlett? Future Property Tycoon or future Shoe Designer?
