A few months ago a very nice woman contacted me about gifting a photo session to her cousin’s family. She spoke very highly of Randy and Maria so I was really looking forward to working with them.
I met the Leaver family met at Manito Park on a beautiful evening and I was pleased to find that they were relaxed, happy, and so nice. That has to be one of my favorite things about this job! It is so fun to spend time with families that are genuinely kind and loving. I always go home from sessions like that with a smile on my face, excited to be with my own family.
Randy and Maria have two beautiful little boys, Paul Michael and Brenton. They are such handsome little ones and they were very cooperative, even though it was getting close to bedtime.
All in all, it was a really nice evening and I think we got some beautiful shots. Isn’t this just about the nicest gift for a family with young children? I hope they think so!

My baby sister is graduating from high school this year. Crazy.
I have adored her since the day she was born and I still do. I can not believe what a beautiful young woman she has grown up to be. Sniff.
Congratulation Cara, I’m excited to see what’s in store for you! One thing is for sure, we’ll be friends for years to come.
And as you can all see below, she’s the pretty sister!

I think I deserve the “Soccer Mom of the Year” award for coming up with these.
Brad and I are coaching our son’s 4/5/6 year-old soccer team this year. Okay, Brad does the coaching and I handle the organizational part.
We were out of town for Picture Day so I offered to do the team’s pictures on another day. Then I got a little ambitious and decided that the kids should have “Memory Mates” like the real picture people sell. This one is even more fun because it’s personalized for the boys with their team name. I’ve been swamped with editing a wedding and processing a bunch of print orders, so this is all I can muster for the blog this week. It’s kinda fun, though.
Go Blue Stars!!

I just got some serious love over at the Spokane Bride Blog. Dana from Spokane Bride contacted me last week to let me know that she wanted to feature one of my Engagement sessions and it was posted today. How cool is that?
Be sure to check out Spokane Bride for all the local wedding trends.
Thanks a ton Dana!

We just received some great news that has given me a little better idea of what our future holds.
So now, I can officially say that we are MOVING TO SEATTLE at the beginning of July!
To my clients in Spokane, thank you so much for supporting my work! I will miss you! (I’ll be back occasionally so you might want to keep in touch.)
To would-be clients in the Seattle area- call me/email me! I’m excited to begin exploring Seattle as a photographer and I’ll need some locals to help me out with that!

This group of siblings wanted to treat their mother to a family portrait for Mother’s Day. Is that sweet or what? During the session they were saying that they think the last family portraits were taken when they were little, and with 6 kids in their family I can understand why!
This family is the type of family who can give each other a hard time and all have a laugh about it. It was fun to see them interact and enjoy each others’ company. It’s clear that a good sense of humor runs in the family genes.
The little guy in yellow is the one and only grandchild and every one of his aunts and uncles adores him. How could they resist those big brown eyes, right?
Thanks to Jenna for organizing everyone (not a small task, I’m sure) and for having me along! I hope these make Mom happy!

I met Malerie and Bryce at the Finch Arboretum here in Spokane for a beautiful spring afternoon. It may seem cheesy, but I couldn’t help but notice how the fresh spring weather, newly blossoming trees, and warm sunshine were all a bit like the new love that had obviously sprung up between Malerie and Bryce. They really are cute. Everything they did was sweet and loving so I didn’t have to direct them very much. I mostly just sat back and watched them through my lens.
I think that’s why I love engagement sessions so much. . . it’s all love and no stress or formality. And there’s a bit of newness there still that is really refreshing.

I’ve been wanting to try my hand at something a little different and these two cuties fit the bill! Camille, the owner of these darling dogs, is in dental school with my husband Brad so we’ll get to see them every once in a while in the future.
Mya and Clyde are English Bulldogs and boy are they cute. Mya is the big sister and she’s super-friendly. Clyde is just a tiny little thing and he likes to follow Mya around pretty much wherever she goes. It was really fun to have a dog in the house again and little Clyde gave me the worst case of puppy fever!

A few months ago I did a little give-away and Nikki was the winner. She decided that for her free session, she would gather a bunch of her girlfriends and have a little fun.
We all met at Rockwood Bakery here on the South Hill (thank you Rockwood!) and the girls obviously had a good time. I’ll tell you what, these were some stylish ladies! I honestly think that collectively they had about 20 pairs of shoes on hand. There were laundry baskets filled with scarves and sweaters and there was even a “fake-eyelash application” station set-up in the bakery. I was absolutely loving it. What a fun group of girls!
I almost forgot. . . to add a little extra something to the pictures, the girls each had a hand-made flower from a local store called Anemone. They say that it’s located next to Nordstroms in the downtown mall. (As soon as I can ditch the little one’s I plan on stopping by. Kids+Beautiful hand-made things=Disaster) The girls were so sweet that they let me pick one to take home. It is so pretty!
So ladies, I hope you had a blast and I hope you like what we ended up with!
