I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel down to Austin, Texas two weekends ago to do this pretty lady’s engagement photos.  Heather happens to be my favorite sister-in-law-who-just-got-engaged and she and her guy Jason decided that they would have me down for a visit.  Of course Stella got to make the trip too, lucky girl.

Funny story:  As I was going through security I said to the TSA guy, “I’ve got a big camera in that bag, do I need to take it out?”  He said, “Yah, you’ll have to take it out because you can’t take it with you.”  We argued back and forth for a few minutes. . . “What do you mean?  You’re kidding, right?”  “No, miss I’m not kidding.  You can’t take it on the airplane, you’ll have to put it in the garbage can over there if you want to continue through security.”  Etc.  Back and forth, back and forth.  Then he finally said, very loudly and in a most annoyed type of voice, “NO MA’AM YOU CAN NOT TAKE A HAMMER ON THE AIRPLANE!”  I said in an equally annoyed voice “CAM.  ERR.  UH.  I have a CAMERA in my bag.  WHY would a girl like me have a HAMMER?”  Then he told me about the 96 year-old woman who had a chain-saw in her carry-on.

Back to the real story. . . Heather, Jason and I trooped all over Austin trying to get some local flava’ in their pictures.  Jason took us up to the UT campus where he showed me how to make a longhorn with my hands and he and Heather joined together in a gripping rendition of the Longhorns fight song.  Thanks for that Jason.  :)   Anyway, we had a blast and I am so excited that Jason will be a part of the Tucker fam now.

Thanks again for having me down guys!  I hope you like what we got.

And a word of warning- this post is extra long because we shot the equivalent of 3 normal sessions over the course of the weekend!

Here is the second installment of photos from Jamie and Ben’s Labor Day wedding.  I just love the cool country feel that the hay field created.

Thanks again to Jamie and Ben for having us out for their beautiful wedding!

Thanks to everyone who made my business a success in Spokane.  I can’t wait to see you all again!

Oh man.  I’m dying to get some of these up, but things have been CRAZY around the Tucker household lately so. . . I’m going to do a shorty post now and then another next week when I have a chance to do some more editing.  So. . . on with the show.

Jamie and Ben were married over labor day weekend at the Puffer Butte Lodge in Field Springs State Park.  Jamie and I (and half of her bridesmaids) cheered together in high school, so this wedding was something I’ve really been looking forward to.  I haven’t seen most of these girls in 10 years so that made it the perfect event to draw me out of my maternity leave.  :)

Their wedding was a casual, intimate gathering of friends and family and the location gave it that special down-home feeling.  The thing that impressed me the most about Jamie and Ben’s wedding was how easy it was to feel the love they have for each other and for their families.  Every detail was a reflection of their love.  Everything felt real, personal, and a bit like home.  Jamie was the most graceful, stunning bride and it was clear that Ben absolutely adores her.  There is something really special about the connection they share and I am so glad that I could be there to witness it.

Well, the title should read “Jane Olivia and Friends” because technically her mommy and daddy and big cousin Bentley were in on the shoot as well, but lets be honest little Jane was the star of the show.  Jane was weighing around 6 lbs when I had the opportunity to photograph and everything about her seemed so tiny!  Maybe that’s because my Stella-belle is weighing a whopping 11 lbs by now, or maybe not.  :)   Regardless of size, I think Miss Jane is going to be full of personality.  She certainly made sure that I knew who was boss.  Before the shoot, her mother swore up and down that all little Jane did was sleep so I thought my work would be a breeze.  Not so Mama, not so.  Miss Jane did everything in her power to foul up our session, including ruining her daddy’s shirt.  :)   But, babies will be babies and I’m more than used to that by now.  And when all was said and done, I think we got some really sweet shots.

While we were in the middle of a wardrobe change for Miss Jane, we took the opportunity to catch a few shots of her ever-so-handsome older cousin Bentley.  It didn’t take long before Bentley’s mama had him laughing along to The Itsy-Bitsy Spider, and drooling excessively.  Just look at those beautiful eyes!  Really, drooling is permissible when your eyes sparkle like that!
