Nilson {FAMILY}

June 8, 2010

The Nilson family was a part of the Preschool CO-OP that Dylan went to this year.  In February, the CO-OP held a fundraiser auction and the Nilsons won the package I donated.  It was really nice to be able to make a contribution to such a wonderful organization and get to make this beautiful family happy at the same time!

We met last week and the weather was supposed to be nasty so we found a location that would work rain or shine.  Lucky for us it decided to shine.  The Flour Mill in downtown Spokane has a really fun variety of backgrounds and a good mix of rustic and park-like settings.

The little Nilsons were just about the cutest things I’ve ever seen.  Do you see the big brown eyes on those kids?  With such an adorable family, how could I go wrong?

Chris and Lindsay were so much fun.  When I talked to Lindsay before the wedding about what she wanted for her bridals, she said she wanted to hit Riverfront Park and ride the carousel.  Does that sound like an easy-going bride or what?

Chris and Lindsay’s big day was May 15th and despite all of the crummy weather we’ve been having, it was beautiful and sunny.  We did, in fact, hit Riverfront Park as well as another one of the bride and groom’s favorite spots- The Elk Public House where the wedding party celebrated with a toast after the ceremony.  The reception was held at the beautiful Lincoln Center and the bride and groom made their way to the reception in a vintage pick-up truck.

Thank you Chris and Lindsay for letting me tag along for all of the fun!

Kyle and Russanne {MARRIED}

October 27, 2009

These two are so in love.  I couldn’t get over how cute Kyle was on their wedding day.  He was absolutely enamored with his new bride.  I don’t think he took his eyes off her for much of the day.

Kyle and Russanne were married in the morning at the Spokane temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a private ceremony and had a beautiful reception at the Masonic Temple in downtown Spokane.  So, we got a few pictures here and a few pictures there throughout the day.  And a beautiful day it was!  These two are absolutely adorable and so much fun to photograph.  As a special treat, we got some fantastic shots of the bride and groom with their ride for the day:  the bride’s dad’s classic car.  The last picture is a shot of the bride and her father.  It was so sweet to watch them together.  She’s the baby of the family, and I think she’s a bit of a ‘daddy’s girl’.

Thanks to Kyle, Russanne, and their family and friends for letting me be a part of this beautiful day.  Congrats to you both!

This is the ultimate {SNEAK PEEK}!  I’m sure that you’d really like to see the bride and groom’s faces, but I’m just in LOVE with this picture.

So you’ll have to wait a little longer.

The Norris’ {FAMILY}

October 15, 2009

Wow, these guys are cute.  Ronae is the older sister of a bride I’m shooting this weekend.  She had been dying to get some pictures of her happy little family since the addition of Liv, their sweet baby girl.  I couldn’t have been happier to shoot such a beautiful family.  We spent an afternoon in downtown Spokane, and nearly froze to death.  Poor Liv was such a trooper in the freezing cold!  I also had Ronae bring Liv up to my house a few days later to get some shots of the sweet babe by herself.  I’ll post those shortly.  Here are my favorites from their family session, though.  I think that first picture, with the amazing color and lens flare, could be my new all-time favorite.  It’s one of those shots that’s just begging be printed huge and hung in a living room.  I’d honestly hang it in my own, that might seem a little weird.  Just a little.  :)

The Norris {FAMILY}

October 12, 2009

This weekend I went into downtown Spokane to get a few shots of the Norris family.  We’ve had quite the cold snap here in Spokane recently, so we had to be quick, but here’s one of my favorite shots so far.

Mary {CLASS OF 2010}

October 6, 2009

As I said before, Mary just has it together.  I was so impressed with how bright and mature she was.  Plus, she’s got that quiet kind of beauty and grace that is way beyond her age.  Mary is sweet and kind, those qualities just radiate off of her and I feel like they came across in the pictures.  She also has a playful side and was happy to do a few shots in a playground we passed along our way.  This girl is something special, to be sure!

Mary {SNEAK PEEK}

October 2, 2009

I was soooo impressed with Mary.  She is bright, sweet, and you can just tell she has her ducks in a row.

In looking through the shots, this one jumped out at me.  :)

Justine {CLASS OF 2010}

September 30, 2009

Justine is adorable.  Measuring in at a formidable 5’0″, she even makes me feel like a giant.  She’s spunky and fun and it’s no surprise that she’s a Ferris High cheerleader.  Go (enter mascot name here)!  She wanted a colorful backdrop for her senior portraits, so we headed to Riverfront park for the flowers and ended up wandering the streets of downtown Spokane looking for other gems.  I think Justine would have rather been shopping at Nordstroms, but wouldn’t we all.

By the way, have you ever seen such beautiful eyes?  I’m not sure I have. . .

Last night I shot Justine’s Senior Portraits in downtown Spokane.  She is tiny and super cute.  Here is one of my favorite shots from the night.

More to come!
